Lot is taken captive by tribesmen in Sodom where he had moved.
God reaffirmed that He would give the land from the Nile to the Euphrates to Abram's descendants, but only after they had spent 400 years as slaves.
Ishmael is born to Hagar when Abram was 86
13 years later God appears and updates the promise. if Abram would "walk before [the LORD] and be upright" then God would make Abram the "father of a multitude of nations."
When God talked about another son, who would be the root of the next generations, Abraham laughed, God said the boy's name would be Isaac, which means "he laughs."
On their way to destroy Sodom, God , with two strangers ( angels) visits with Abram and strikes a deal with God... 10 good men in Sodom... means Lot will be saved.
