Mary Baker Eddy and the seven synonyms.
* Discuss saying prayers in the morning, and knowing the real truth when waking up...drill a little on The Lord's Prayer.
* The teacher can print out short phrases for each to learn and take home egg. God is All-harmonious|', remind is All-in-all'' |1 am God's perfect child's. Using a simple sticker, print a word of the week's for them to learn.
* Play Book Game on floor...each child has a Bible and a Science and Health and puts his hand on the one the teacher describes eg book with two testaments, with story of Paul, written by Mary Baker Eddy, with sixty-six little books in it, Scriptures, Key to the Scriptures.
* Dramatize Bible stories...e.g. Good Samaritan, Daniel in the lions den, lf you have a private space for your class. These last two ideas can be done in a happy, orderly way if the teacher lovingly keeps control.
* Stories from Mary Baker Eddy's 1ife...e.g. living on the farm; healing Stanley; her own boy, George; her healing and writing the textbook. Several books from the Reading Room are helpful for finding such stories, such as The Golden Day's by Smaus and Child's Life of Mary Baker Eddy's by Hays.
* Tell of dealings an children's stories in Sentinel, and ask them to tell the class about their own headings. Keep individual records for each child.
* Help them to tell you why it is important to love yourself, to know the truth, to love, to be a peacemaker. They are more likely to remember what they said on Sunday school, than what the teacher said!
Golden Gloves (the Golden Rule)
The children repeat this as they play putting on gloves, one word for each finger, then fasten them on by saying god is love's and love one another's one fastener for each hand. They then can put their Golden Gloves on their knees, while listening to a Bible Story, and quietly reminded during the story to keep them there.
* Serialize longer stories over several weeks e.g. Moses from basket an Nile to hearing from Caleb, can take about six weeks, including a little review each time, similarly for Joseph from getting a special coat to bringing all his brothers to Egypt.
* Discuss, perhaps with a picture, abstract ideas; egg. Trust, harmony, reflection, peace, peacemaker, practice. Try to help the children see the difference between error, air, and heir; also the difference between a reflection, a picture, a material object and a spiritual creation; milord Jesus and milord god's; also universe and university (especially if they live near a university most teachers have amusing stories of what their pupils have said. but it is also an important part of teaching to help the. have a clear idea of what you are really talking about.
* For five-year olds, use flashcards of up to twenty simple, relevant words egg. Sunday, Mother, Father, Jesus, Bible, Mary
